Well, you can tell I don't use Opera ;-)

I agree about the Web Slices getting annoying - at first I thought the snapz plugins were cool, but quickly got tired of links throwing little popups everywhere.

Memory footprints and technical improvements seem, unfortunately, like only something techies care enough about to make a fuss. We'll never see a major release of IE making much of a difference there, because it's not the techies making the marketing decisions!

The right-click search has been available in Opera for years. That's another "Innovation" moved into "Imitation" segment. The Web Slices are innovative, but annoying. 3rd party vendors have offered this snapshot plug-in and I always found it irritating. I wish IE8 reduced the memory footprint and allowed itself to be uninstalled completely. Now THAT would be first-time features from Microsoft :-)
